The similarities between my current job and my former job are few and far between.

Or perhaps its just the really big main point: we are treated like fully capable, mature adults.

Or is that what all salary jobs are like?

I'm still quite in mental shock about the "no time clock" thing. What, so if I show up at 8:01 instead of 8:00, I'm not late and sternly talked to by my boss? If I have an idea to improve something, I can just ask my boss if I can work on it and away I go?!? People take ownership of their work and look forward to helping you and answering your questions?

And I have to admit, the ten minute commute is fantastic. And that includes waiting at the lights. And I now have an hour lunch and am able to see my husband every day if I so choose. And my cubicle has a direct view of the Mississippi river and all of the wildlife that comes with it. (I saw woodpeckers today!)

The only flaws I've seen so far are my keyboard (tiny cheap Dell thing when I need a big ergonomic one) and the oddly remodeled bathrooms (they turned three stalls into two - I imagine for accessibility - but the second one upstairs doesn't have a door...).

Yep.

Oy, my brain is full, though. The optical world is vast and I'm rusty on my Unix commands.
