It sounds like Tim is having a good time in Vegas. Last night I got two text messages from him. The first said he understood why I liked roullette so much as he had just made $60 turn into $255. The second said he was going to bed as he'd already lost most of his winnings. heh.

Mom just drove away. I hope she had a good time. Dad is getting a bit lonely as she was in Tennessee last week with her friend Linda and was only home for an evening before she left to stay up here for a few days.

I think the wedding shower went quite well. My living room floor is covered in gift bags and boxes. I figure I'll wait to put anything away until Tim get a chance to see it all. Or, I could just be lazy. :) Unfortunately, Jill, Nancy and Deb all had to leave quite early as Nancy's husband Pat (also Jill's brother) called her and said her cousin had just gotten into a major car crash and was being air-lifted to the St. Cloud Hospital. Hopefully all is ok but, man, that's scary!

Mom and I spent almost $60 dollars at the Dollar Store in the mall yesterday. We found some fake flowers and vines that will work perfectly (with a little creativity and plain stubbornness!) for the garland that will be on the tri-fold in the park. Also, there were packs of 8 little bubble bottles for a dollar and 6 packs of plastic swan cups things for a dollar. So we bought a bunch of those for the little table favors. We then went to Party America (formerly Paper Warehouse) and bought them out of the plastic stemmed nut bowls plus they are ordering another pack of ten from a nearby store.

And then we had some Pho. :)

Saturday was the shower and everyone complimented me on my outfit. That pleased me as it took a lot of searching to find it. :) The food spread was delicious and Miss Jody Mae even went and made some delicious hommade cinnamon cheesecake just for the occasion! That girl spoils me sometimes! My cousin Mandy made all of the table decorations for the party. They were really lovely and everyone was gushing about how they looked real! They were styrofoam balls with fake flowers poked into them. A big one in the center of the table and then two smaller ones on the sides of the tables. Very cool. I didn't feel like I was able to visit enough with everybody, but what can you do?

Afterwards, Mom, my two aunts, my grandmother, Mandy, her daughter Hayley and sister Shelley and I all went to TimberLodge for dinner. My Aunt Pat came a little later with her "friend" Tom from mass and we had a good time. Everyone behaved themselves pretty well. When we got home on Saturday I believe I fell asleep on the couch after turning all of the clocks.

Today, Mom came with me to my second dress fitting. She understood immediately why I think those two ladies are a little crazy. Again, they spent about half an hour measuring and remeasuring the hem and exclaiming "it moved again!". Mom finally, in the most polite and friendly way that she is, informed them of some basic geometry skills where the hem of the dress will be at a different height from the floor depending on if you pull it out straight or if you are pushing it in while measuring. Finally we got the hem to a spot where everyone was calmer. The bustle also was arranged this time and I think it will really look lovely and showcase the beautiful embroidery on the back of the dress.

Then we had BLT sandwiches at Benton Station. Mom thinks it will be a great place to bring Dad for lunch when they come up in May.

I also amused my mother this morning with this video.

Her friend Gail gave her a book that had us both cackling on the couch.

And now I think I will reserve hairdresser appointments for the big day and take a lovely nap on the couch.
