I am about a third of the way done with Thank You cards. My hands hurt, though. I hope the pictures from Coborns turn out ok. Some photoshopping must have been done for the super-sweet slideshow DVD, but I don't think they were done to the real pictures on the photo dvd. So, hopefully that one turned out ok.

Tim took me to see the house he and Scott bought. It's definitely an oldie, but still a good one. At first I was incredibly nervous to go in there (it's 140 years old!) and I still wouldn't want to be in there alone at night, but after I figured out the original layout of the house and it became more homey in my mind's eye, I got less frightened by it.

Yes, old buildings can freak me out sometimes. I am a wuss.

From here: Serendipity gets new ownership

The former Serendipity coffeehouse will become The Book and Bean Café on June 26.

The Calvary Chapel Saint Cloud is the new owner of the coffee shop, said the Rev. Dominic Dinger, senior pastor of the church.

"We're excited," Dinger said of the church's new venture.

The former home at 1705 St. Germain St. will also house church offices upstairs. The shop is closed while the new owners get ready to reopen.

It will feature breakfast and lunch offerings, along with coffee, tea and desserts. The new shop also will sell inspirational books, Bibles and music.

Dinger said the new owners plan to continue with the "excellent" customer service that Serendipity started.

The coffeehouse and bookstore will be open to the community and no church services will be conducted there.

Serendipity opened in June 2004. It offered food, coffee and had an art gallery.

Dinger said The Book and Bean Café will be open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

This is one of those old houses that are so neat to be in, but maybe not late at night by yourself. There is definitely a ghost in the upstairs hallway, by the door to the balcony. I'm disappointed that Serendipity is closed, now, though. They had delicious and unique food and hot caffeinated beverages and a neat art gallery. Plus, the house was obviously well taken care of and was absolutely gorgeous on the inside.
