Updates on the home front

There are baby robins in our flowering crab apple tree. They are getting too big for their nest! They kinda look like really old stereotypical black-face routine actors with white fu machus and fluffy hair in orange scruffy shirts. And boy, when mamma lands on that branch, there are beaks and wings poking out every which way to get that open mouth filled! I think I spent over half an hour this evening just watching them go about their twitchy business in the nest.
I think I am killing the grass in front of the flower bed on the south side of the house. Actually, I know I am. There is a distinct dead area in the shape of one's butt right in front of the lilies I have been mentally coaxing to live. But I have eight at the moment in various leafy stages, so I'm pretty happy about that!
My grandma gave my mom to give to me my inheritance from the money my grandpa gave her when he died in 2003. (Did you get all of that?) I decided to use it in a new account on scottrade.com. (They had the cheapest trade fees.) I figured it'd be a neat thing to try and learn about and a new hobby. Plus, it wasn't money I was expecting, so if I lose it all, I won't be out anything I was counting on. However, the losing it all is a lot closer to reality than anything else right now. Could you please tell the stock market people to stop making my stocks go down? heh.
Our trip to Italy is confirmed and booked! March 3rd through 10th! Two nights in Rome, train to Florence, two nights in Florence, train to Venice, two nights in Venice! We also signed up for some day activities, too. A Full day Monumental & Ancient tour with Lunch in Rome; a Half day afternoon City tour in Florence, a 2 hour morning walking tour of Venice, with a half day Venice Lagoon Islands boat trip that evening. It's exciting! Now I just have to be patient and wait unitl effing March!
